St Botvids Gymnasium

Coolt.

Agressive/Nurturing

When I first read David Maister’s blog entry about the virtue of being externally agressive and internally nurturing, I did not agree with Lindsey’s opinion at all, but then I realised that it all comes down to what we define as internal/external. The company border is one definition, but too narrow in my opinion. The national border is too narrow as well. Remember the prisoner’s dilemma (or google it if you have not learned the lesson yet). It is hard to create trust with an agressive approach, and trust is what this world needs more of. I wish more people, including the president of the United states, could be more inclusive.

The reason why we should act on global warming

This guy puts words to the thoughts I have had the last few months, but have not been able to articulate. Please watch it. And, for the record I think the most plausible outcome of column A is NOT a global depression, but a global economic upswing since actions to curb climate change are also actions that save resources and thus lower the costs for all sorts of activities.

My friend Tobias Fors recently got me interested in the Theory of Constraints, so I have started exploring that field. Today, I watched this web cast that Henrik Mårtensson has made that gives an overview of the subject: http://kallokain.blogspot.com/2007/08/chain-theory-webcast.html.

The future of computer interfaces

Perceptive Pixel has developed a really nice multitouch computer interface. Watch and be amazed:

Actually, the first demo of this kind of interface was presented at the TED 2006 conference by Jeff Han, who later went about and launched Perceptive Pixel.

Sorry, Anand Agarawala. Even if your BumpTop interface is kind of cool too, you only get a second prize this time.
